Introduction

The experience and knowledge of our professionals at Tree-Tech in tree and plant care extends to the health and beauty of your turf through our wide selection of environmentally safe Lawn Care services for all types of residential and commercial properties.

We offer a number of package Programs, which combine granular fertilizer and broadleaf weed control applications, and other specific control applications, extending from early spring right through until late fall. As with tree and shrub care, the specific recommendations for your lawn are best determined after a Lawn Analysis is conducted by one of our professional arborists.

Our Analysis reviews the types of turf, the types of disease and insect activity, looks for the presence of controllable and uncontrollable weeds, soil conditions, and makes recommendations on noticeable problems that the property owner can correct.

In addition to our standard lawn care approaches, we have "Ecology friendly" organic lawn care programs available. These alternative approaches provide an Environmentally Responsible approach to achieving a beautiful healthy lawn. We are also helping to reduce pesticide use with Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

We employ fully insured, government-certified technicians to handle your lawn care needs, ensuring the highest quality standards and practices are met.

As with all our services, we offer you a free consultation and estimate of your lawn care needs!

Treatment Schedule and Applications

Fertilization
Applied from late March to early November depending on the snowfall accumulations. These are balanced feedings spaced approximately 6 weeks apart according to seasonal conditions.

Weed Control
Control begins with the onset of the spring crop, usually beginning in late April and continuing throughout the season for remaining summer and fall crops. These are also spaced approximately 6 weeks apart, with guaranteed results. If any weeds pop up between applications, re-sprays are provided at no charge.

Chinch Bugs
Insects like chinch bugs are generally difficult to notice until significant damage has been done. These are generally treated through July and August when this insect is active. Guaranteed control of this insect.

Grub Control
Timely applications of MERIT are the best control for grubs. For the last five years Grubs have severely damaged Southern Ontario lawns. Traditional Grub controls can be somewhat effective if applied under the perfect situations:
1. Lawn is moist and growing
2. Grubs are small
3. You must water the control in very well.
4. Soil is not sandy.

Tree Tech utilizes a NEW Grub Control: MERIT! MERIT has shown to be a proven performer over the last seven years in the U.S. With correct applications, MERIT has shown to be over 90% effective. Applications take place in June or July, and through sufficient watering, MERIT is absorbed and stored in the root system. When the grubs hatch and begin to feed on the roots, they are killed. This "Systemic Control" is much more environmentally friendly.

1. Only applied once per year.
2. Very low toxicity levels.
3. Over 90% effective with proper use.
4. Wildlife are not effected.

Crabgrass Control
Crabgrass control can be applied as a pre-emergent in May or as a post-emergent after germination. This dual treatment now available is extremely effective at eliminating crabgrass.

Vegetation Control
Round-up application is the best control for vegetation along driveways, in sidewalks and patios.

Aeration
Controlled removal of small soil cores allows fertilizer, water and air to quickly reach the roots zone of your grass, and help break up compacted soil. It also helps to reduce thatch build up. Aeration can be done anytime from May to October with the exception of drought periods.

Seeding
Seeding can take place at anytime during the season, as long as sufficient irrigation is provided for seed germination. We use a top quality seed mix guaranteed to grow. Seeding also works well with aeration to fill in bare spots on your lawn.

Lime Treatment
Granular agricultural lime is applied to adjust the pH level in soil of shady areas.

Why Keep a Healthy Lawn?
  • An average lawn provides enough oxygen for 6 people.
  • A health lawn provides an excellent cushion for children and adults at play.
  • Turf can be 10 - 14 degrees F. cooler than exposed soil and as much as 30 degrees F. cooler than concrete or asphalt.
  • Healthy turf prevents soil erosion, filters contaminants and reduces run-off.
  • Well-maintained lawns and landscapes can add up to 15% to your property value.
Ask for a consultation today so that we can recommend the right program for your lawn.
